Two Monitors Are Better Than One

Today I finally setup the two-monitors for my desktop:

Two Monitors Are Better Than One

Two Monitors Are Better Than One

I’ve been wanting to do this for over a year. I finally got the opportunity to get a “lightly used” Dell monitor from work for a great price, FREE! The new monitor will allow me to split up my work, primarily photo editing and cataloging. In fact this photo shows the manual for IDimager (an image management application) on the left, with the application itself running on the right. This way I can work through the user manual without having to keep clicking windows open/closed to switch from the document to the application.

I've used all three to buy my camera equipment (and a lot of other stuff!) and I highly recommend them. You don't pay any more but you will help keep this site up and running. Thanks!

Day 24-A DAM Photograph

Here’s the DAM photograph:

Day 24-The DAM Photograph

No, I’m not having a bad day. This is actually a photograph of my DAM software. DAM in short for (digital asset management), which is a fancy way of saying photo organizing. I currently use IDimager to keep track of all my photographs. It’s a very powerful piece of software and I haven’t begun to learn all I need to know about it in order to use it to it’s potential. So, my plan is to take the next couple of weekends to actually read the user manual and get more proficient at using it.

BTW, the image I’m viewing in this photo is from the Georgian Terrace Hotel shoot that we attended this past weekend. It’s of a spiral staircase and the image shows the view looking up through the staircase from the ground floor. I think the final version of this will make an appearance on this blog at some point soon.

What do all of you use to mange your photographs?
