Day 102-A Little Yard Work

There’s never a shortage of stuff to do in the yard:

Day 102-A Little Yardwork

Today I got home from the office, put on my other work clothes (the ones with holes in the knees) and headed out to the back yard to do some work. We had a large bush that had died last year that needed to be removed. I cut off all the branches, chopped them up and put them in several lawn bags. Two hours later I was finished.

Next up, trim some more bushes, mow the lawn and pickup a bunch more pine cones.

Day 7-Backyard Squirrel

We have a lot of these little guys running around our backyard:

Day 7-Backyard Squirrel

This Squirrel is one of many who love to hang out below our bird feeder and get anything that falls to the ground. I snapped this from our deck, which is about 25 feet away from the feeders. I used my Canon EF-S 55-250mm lens to get this shot. Even with the 1.6 crop factor of the T3i (making this a 370mm or so effective focal length) and some cropping I could still use some more reach. I’d like to get a 400mm lens at some point but for now 250 is all I got.
