Hi Debbie,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I've had the Sirui for a couple of months now and have used it some, but not as much as I would have liked. I will be using it a lot in the next couple of weeks though so I plan on posting a review soon. I can tell you that so far I am very happy with the tripod, as is Pam with hers. These are definitely not as compact as the T-025 but they are fairly compact. I considered the T-025 for Pam as she is just 5 feet tall but it seemed to not be as stable as the N-2004, especially for our DSLR's. As for the warranty, I think you will want to make sure that you purchase from an authorized dealer, which is why I bought from Adorama. The price was the exact same as Amazon if I remember correctly.

Stay tuned for the review and thanks very much for your interest in the blog!

Would love to hear if you have used your Sirui much and what you think of it?? I stumbled across your blog and saw the Feisol/Sirui dilemma and it is exactly what I am going through. Although...I am a novice, just starting to get into photography but I have been warned not to buy "cheap" as I will regret it, but I can't get myself to spend the $s on a Gitzo either. The Feisol seemed the way to go but I kept coming back to the Sirui. I was more intrigued with the Sirui T-025 because it is so small when folded up, and I envision myself using this mostly when I travel. However, the downside of the T-025 was because it was so small...I am only 5'3" but I would still have to bend down a bit. Oh - and I am not using a full DSLR either, but a micro 4/3....I was hoping there was a Sirui that would still be light and small but not AS small as the T-025. And an appropriate ball head as well.
Could you elaborate more as to how you like it? Are you in Seattle btw? (oh, and would you not get the warranty if you bought, say through Amazon?) I would appreciate your input if it is not an imposition...I really depend upon others to help educate me as I go through this learning curve.
thanks!

Hey James,

You are a winner! It is a VW, actually very close to your Golf because I drive a Jetta TDI, which is basically the wagon version of the Golf. I had a Passat prior to this. What kind of mileage do you get in your Golf?

Is that a VW? It looks an awful lot like the instrument panel, vents, and hazard light button on my tdi Golf.

Yeah, I remember that. We had a section on the metric system in math class. It is actually easier to use but not if everything else is in Imperial units. As for the fossil fuels, I think we have more (recoverable) reserves now than we did in the 1970's. Technology keeps improving!

Growing up back in the 70's, we were told in school we would all be on the metric system by now, so we better learn it.
That prediction never came true.
We were also warned the world would run out of fossil fuels.

Nice find.
